Frequent cases of #sexualassault and extreme violence against women have covered the front pages of national and international media, giving rise to a widespread perception #globally that #India is #unsafe for women. Many countries such as the US and UK advice #womentravellers to exercise caution when traveling in India even as part of a group.
In 2017 #Forbes ranked India as the 4th most dangerous place for solo female travelers. In 2018 a survey conducted by the #ThomsonReuters Foundation ranked India as the world's most dangerous country for women, ahead of #Afghanistan, Syria and Saudi Arabia.
